My mom and I just bought some cheese at a whole foods store that actually had a respectable cheese selection.
I found something marked "Doux de Montagne" and it looked a lot like the Tome de Pyrénées that I love in France.
And then it tasted just like Vermont cheddar. So disappointing. I thought it was imported from France, but maybe they can't put in the same cheese cultures and things. It wasn't a raw milk cheese, like camambert, but who knows.
Sorry B, when I get back, I'll have to buy all the cheeses that I miss: Comté, tome de pyrénées, that stuff from Alsace I can never remember the name of, chevre....
I had my hopes up and everything, but no, just some more Fake French.
