B and I were comfortable on the couch last night watching De l'autre côté du lit with Sophie Marceau and Dany Boon when we noticed a plume of smoke. It took a second to realize that it wasn't in the movie, but smoke coming from the XBox we were using to watch the movie! We don't know yet if it's completely fried, but hopefully it was just the motor for the fan that shorted out and not the hard drive.... The weird thing was that the XBox didn't stop working even when there was smoke coming out. We had to turn the fans on high afterwards to get rid of the burnt plastic smell.
As for the movie (which we obviously didn't finish), B had suggested it as something light to watch. And it's definitly light. A work-a-holic husband and housewife/jewelry saleswoman decide to switch places because the wife has had enough of her husband never being around to help with the kids or the house. Cue scene of wife trying to act like a stereotypical man, and second scene of husband trying to be sentimental and sensitive. You'll have to go with the idea that men are direct and strong and women are soft and nurturing (even if you don't agree) because that's how the movie's set up.
So, it's a little sappy, but it's also a comedy, and the actors are all good. I'll try to give a final opinion once we finish it. Next week we'll be in the Gard with B's parents, so I checked out three movies from the library: Breakfast Club (because B's never seen it), Bus Stop (with Marylin Monroe, because I've never seen it), and Les Destinées sentimentales (because it's a period film with Emmanuelle Béart and Isabelle Huppert).
