Europeana enables people to explore the digital resources of Europe's museums, libraries, archives and audio-visual collections. Around 1500 institutions have contributed to Europeana. Renowned names such as the British Library in London, the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and the Louvre in Paris are featured alongside smaller organisations across Europe. Together, their assembled collections allow you to explore Europe's history from ancient times to the modern day.
How cool is that? The genealogy newsletter mentioned some new family records added to the website, but there are all kinds of thinks. Type in the name of your city (in Europe) or a famous person to see what you get.
It doesn't provide necessarily any new information, but in my search for Toulouse it brought up both links to videos on the INA website and paintings from the Musée des Augustins. If you're looking for information and don't know which museum it might be in or where a video might be, it's a great meta search.
